"Aging in place" is a rapidly growing industry as the world population increases in age at a high rate. The idea behind this project was to remodel an existing master bedroom and bathroom suite to accommodate an aging couple. The challenge was to create an environment that would be conducive to possible illnesses and conditions that might affect the clients in the future. Wheelchair accessibility along with user friendly lighting design were some of the most important aspects. Aesthetically, my goal was to create a relaxing environment, using timeless, neutral materials that would ever adapt to changing trends.
